Interesting business strategy: Starbucks getting rid of old grounds as gardening aid

It was mind blowing after reading the Secretive Nation (CNN) — an overview of the Korean history from 2333 B.C. to 2004.

I remember that when I was kid in Shanghai I used to watch movies about the Korean war. Those movies were made by the Chinese. By today’s standard, they are all propaganda movies — praising the communist nations and puttting down the Westerns. Back then I didn’t understand much about the cause for the Chinese army to fight in the Korean war, but one thing that I thought I knew was that the Chinese were the good guys and the Westerners were the bad guys.

Looking back, I come to realize the power of political propaganda and the importance of freedom of speech.

I feel bad for the Korean people, especially the North Korean. The poor country has always been trapped in the middle some wars or political conflicts.

On a related issue, I wonder if the history that we have known today would be any different if the Communist nations were the super power in today’s world. Would the same history stories be told differently?

Just uploaded a few funny comic pictures to my photo album.

Received an email from one of my high school friend back in Peabody. It was a message to all the boys about an online article.

After reading the article, it reminds me about the groups of people that I have grown up with. People in KS, in MD, and in CA. So much has changed and so much we have grown up. For sure that I like what I have right now and won’t do a thing to change the past, but I wish I can go back in time and re-experience the enjoy that I had in being young and naive.

A man’s life is short and a man’s life being young is even shorter.

I hate the way I feel right now. Sitting in front my computer trying to figure out what I should write for a journal paper. Yes, I can write about many things. Maybe it’s because of the rainy day. For some reason, I just couldn’t get myself into the flow of writing. Maybe I should do something else and take a break from writing.

Released CoBrA Demo Toolkit 1.0.0.

Made a QuickTime movie that shows how the demo works. Making movies are difficult. This demo video clip did not turn out as good as I want it to be. If you think editing pix in the photoshop is hard, editing mov in iMovie is 10x harder. Not because the software is bad (actually iMovie is really easy to use), but because there are so much you can do in a movie, and sometimes you are just overwhelmed by different options.

The winner of the Live 105.7 Miss March Madness Tournament is Jenn, an FOAF. I voted, as well as the ppl on the talk_crap list.

More on the price reward and other “craps” …. see the pix here

Thanks to each and everyone of you for your votes. Without your support Jenn would not have won. Jenn and the other finalist (Jennifer) and six of their friends were picked up by limo and taken to Claddaugh’s Restaurant in Canton for the announcement during halftime of the NCAA Championship game.

Jenn won $1,000 cash prize; $250 jewelry gift certificate; 3 months membership to a health club; roses; trophy and other gifts. It was a first class affair. The station will post pictures of the event in a day or two. If you go to www.live1057.com and go to the left column and click on “live shots”, it will take you to the event and you will be able to view pictures.

We just got back from a friend’s birthday party at the One club. It was a lot of fun. It’s kind of like the old Sonar but bigger. I liked the whole VIP/guest list thing that they had going on. It’s a very trendy place. The music was pretty good — a good mix of techno, hip-hop, 80’s and pop (yes, like “toxic”).

When we were leaving, in the parking lot, we saw a fight. Man! It was pretty crazy. I wish I had brought my camera phone. It was one of those Kodak moments. No kidding!

I like One better than H2O, which I have gone to on Friday night. So far, the only club that I like in DC is Nation… <-- it says a lot, does it?

Finally, the iCal feature that I have request is now available.
