I always believe that if one day we stop greenhouse gas contributions, the Earth will be a better place again. After reading this SciAm article, I guess I was wrong.
A research study show that “even if greenhouse gas levels had stabilized five years ago, global temperatures would still increase by about half a degree by the end of the century and sea level would rise some 11 centimeters”.
As the oil prices continues to climb and the Earth continues to get warmer, the future doesn’t look so good to me.

It seems like the great unification of East and West Germany is not going so great. According to this Reuters news article, “nearly a quarter of western Germans and 12 percent of easterners want the Berlin Wall back”.
The poll also found that 47 percent of the easterners agree with the statement that the West “acquired the east like a colony,” while 58 percent of the westerners back the statement that “easterners tend to wallow in self-pity.”
