How China’s legal system differs from the US
A Chinese man jailed for 11 years for murdering his wife - who then turned up alive - is seeking compensation from the state. I thought this kind of stories only happen in the movies. But I guess I was wrong.
For a long time, people have argued that the legal system in China is broken. Personally, I’m not sure if the system is broken, but I’m sure it’s an imperfect system.
For those who do know much about Chinese legal system. Here is a quick highlight. In the US, all suspects are innocent until they are proven to be guilty. However, in China, all suspects are guilty until they are proven to be innocent.
