Sun and Goolge announced that they will jointly promote Sun's OpenOffice software. The initial statements from the companies lack details of this joint venture. However, it's clear that new OpenOffice will feature Google Search.
My predication is that Google will take on the challenge to introduce an Ajax version of the OpenOffice, so that it can compete with Microsoft Office. Why do I believe this? There is a lot of buzz [1, 2] on Slashdot that talk about Ajax and office applications (i.e., word processor, spreadsheet). There are evidences that an Ajax version of these software applications could work (see [1]).
What do you think?
