My problem with President Bush

I quote from Bush prods China on freedom (Reuters):
"U.S. President George W. Bush on Wednesday urged China to move further to allow political and religious freedoms, and he held up Taiwan as a model for Asia of a free and democratic society."
I agree that China is not as decomcratic as we all want it to be, and there is much room for the government to improve. Nevertheless, whenever I hear President Bush tries to push this subject forward, his speech annoys me.

I wonder if he knows the true implication of asking the Chinese to suddenly switch to a democratic system. In a democratic system, people are expected to make decisions for the society. There are so many people in China didn't have good education, and probably won't be able to make sound decisions on their own. Asking these people to govern themselves is going to be disastrous.
